“Who is wise? Let him understand these things.
Who is prudent? Let him know them…
For the ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them,
But transgressors stumble in them.”  Hosea 14:9

Do You Want to Be Wise?

Though education is on the rise,
And schooling sought as the prize,
Seems we often overlook,
What it truly means to be wise…

For wisdom is not received from
 the number of books we’ve read,
Or from personal achievement, 
or if we’re quoted for what we said…

Nor is wisdom found
in the latest trend,
Or how well we sound
 when we make our words bend…

Nor is it in redefinition
Of the story of our past,
Or declaring the latest view,
As the only one worth our clasp…

To be wise is really quite simple
For those who understand,
Wisdom is living, loving and learning,
From the way God has purposed and planned…

To be wise you see,
Depends upon your source,
And allowing Almighty God,
To be the Director of your course…

So come along on the journey,
It’s never too late to start,
Find true lasting wisdom,
By giving Him your heart!
