Not Me
"Alas, Sovereign Lord, I said,  I do not know how to speak; I am too young." Jeremiah 1:6

When the Lord called Jeremiah to be His spokesman to the nations, his first response was "not me".  Viewing his limitations and lack of experience as a barrier, Jeremiah felt inadequate. 

The same "not me" mindset is seen in Moses when God called him to be the deliverer of the Jewish people who were in bondage in Egypt. Moses said, "I have never been eloquent...I am slow of speech and tongue." See Exodus 4:10

Again, Gideon's expressed the "not me" response to the angel when he said, "Pardon me, my lord...but how can I save Israel? My clan is the weakest in Manasseh, and I am the least in my family." See Judges 6"15

Scripture reminds us that God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called!  When we sense the "no", God has a way for us to "go"! He is faithful to enable us to accomplish His plan for us.  

Instead of saying "not me", let's say, "with Thee", I can do all things.
