Fully Satisfied
"But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water..." Jeremiah 17:7-8
For many years now I have closed emails and texts with the word - blessings. This incredible concept is found throughout the Bible.
We are reminded that as Scripture takes root in our lives it transforms the way we react in trying situations. David wrote: "Blessed is the one who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; but their delight is in the law of the Lord..." (Psalm 1:1)
Jesus opens the sermon on the mount with what we call the beattitudes. "Blessed are: the
poor in spirit, those who mourn, the meek, those who hunger for righteousness, the merciful, the pure in heart, the peacemakers, those who are persecuted for righteousness sake..." (Matthew 5:3-10) But what does blessed mean?
My favorite definition of blessed is "fully satisfied"! As we trust in the Lord and our confidence is in Him, we are like a well nourished tree, flourishing through every season of life. We are not taken out by trials and circumstances, instead we are made stronger through them.
Deep roots allow trees to keep standing in storms. So too, faith in God allows us to find His strength and be reminded that we are "fully satisfied" in Jesus!

What a refreshing word today. It reminded me that everyday I am blessed, even thru the trials and hiccups of life. This week more than anything, Steve and I have been reminded how much we are truly blessed. Hugs
