Washed
"But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy, He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit" Titus 3:4-5
What a marvelous thought: God our Savior! Creator of the universe, Maker of all things, Eternal Sovereign, the Alpha and Omega - our Savior.
The message of the Bible is profound and on point: God loves you and wants to wash you clean. God sent His Son Jesus to take our sins upon Himself. (John 3:16-17) In Jesus, God provides us the opportunity for "rebirth and renewal".
Our sin keeps us from God, but through faith in Jesus, sin's penalty is washed away. As the old hymn says:
"What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus! What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus!"
Are you washed? Believe in your heart and confess with your mouth...and you will be saved. (Romans 10:9-10)
