Pastor’s Pen for Sunday, November 3, 2019

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering,
for He Who promised is faithful.”  Hebrews 10:23

Without Wavering

All around the storm pounds,
Hurricane winds with such force,
Testing at times our conviction,
Attempting to drive us off course…

Things in disarray bring confusion,
Pushing and pulling us away,
The enemy’s lies trying to convince,
“May as well abandon God’s way…”

Yet in times of hardship and struggle,
Even when all we know is loss,
There is a place we can hold fast,
On our knees, at the foot of the cross…

For He Who promised is faithful,
It’s not about how well we have done,
Our confession of hope is in Jesus,
 Author and Finisher, God’s only Son…

So hold fast to your confession,
Watch the words that you speak,
Put away fearful thinking,
At all times God’s presence seek…

And you will find grace sufficient,
To see you safely through,
For it’s not how strong you are,
But Him, Who is living in you!
