“This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12
As I Have Loved You
In a world filled with condemnation
Criticism, ridicule, even calls for damnation,
Jesus shows us the power of true salvation,
“Love, as I have loved you!”
Even with those with whom you disagree,
Or with those whom you eye to eye do see,
Love is the only solution, our only plea,
“Love as I have loved you!”
For as we understand, how He first loved others,
His love in us can make us all brothers,
As we want to be treated, is how we treat others,
“Love as I have loved you!”
So whatever the situation,
Don’t end up in frustration,
Love is there for the duration,
It offers a living demonstration,
As He loves without condemnation,
So we too follow His recommendation,
Love as you have been loved!
