A Prayer of Blessing for 2021
Father in heaven, Maker and Sustainer of life,
You are holy and righteous; compassionate and gracious;
You are slow to anger; abounding in love and faithfulness;
We call on You to bountifully bless your people,
as we seek Your face.
We give you thanks that you sent Your Son, Jesus Christ
to carry our sins upon Himself and reveal
Your marvelous truth and grace!
We remember Your faithfulness and Your call to step
forward in faith, not being limited by our past
but delighting in the plans and dreams You have for us.
Today as we prepare to step into a new year,
make us healthy and strong in body, mind and spirit,
being filled with expectancy.
May we be blessed with supernatural strength to turn our eyes from foolish,
worthless and evil things, shutting out the negative and demeaning;
while be wholly dependent upon Your power to be the overcomers,
You have declared us to be.
May Your grace be upon our homes, making them a sanctuary
of rest and renewal; places where the sounds of joy and laughter resound.
May we do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with You God.
May we declare Your Kingdom come and Your will be done.
May we be reminded daily of Your call to break up our fallow ground,
for every day is a day to seek You!
Give us hearts that thirst for You and hope that clings to Your promises;
for you have commanded Your lovingkindness in the daytime,
and in the night, Your song shall be with us.
May the God of all comfort and peace, steady our thoughts,
direct our steps and strengthen our hearts:
for our days belong to You Lord: You are our hiding place;
You surround us with songs of deliverance, preserving us from trouble,
Therefore in 2021, let Your praise continually be on our lips,
as we make our boast in You!
