Waymaker!
"And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven's Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. By His death, Jesus opened a new and life-giving way through the curtain into the Most Holy Place. " Hebrews 10:19-20
Often times we may have a sense that we are at a dead-end. The enemy tells us that there's "no way" and our circumstances seem to affirm those words. Being given a diagnosis and a prognosis, walls like those that surrounded ancient Jericho, can arise like massive roadblocks. It's in times like that we need a Waymaker!
When hearing that Jesus was departing, fear and concern shook His disciples. Thomas stated this when he said: "...we don't know (the way), Lord. We have no idea where You are going, so how can we know the way?" To this Jesus replied, "I am the way, the truth and the life. " John 14:5-6
Jesus not only makes a way, He is the way! He has made a way and is the way for us to enter the very throne room of heaven!
This is the amazing thing we celebrate in the Lord's supper, communion. "For every time you eat this bread and drink this cup, you are announcing the Lord's death until He comes again." I Corinthians 11:26
We who had no way to enter heaven's Most Holy Place now have a Way! Through His death on the cross; through His torn flesh, an entry has been provided. Through His broken body and shed blood we have confidence to come boldly to the Father.
Commemorate joyfully and remember our Waymaker, Who calls us to a journey out of "no way" to His way. Declare, "I can do all things through Him Who strengthens me!" Philippians 4:13
Blessings and refreshing,
Pastor Rick
