Holding Things Together
"His Son is the reflection of God's glory and the exact likeness of God's being. He holds everything together through His powerful words." Hebrews 1:3 (GW)
Recently I was asked, "How are you holding up?" My rapid reply was not very thought out as I chirped, "pretty good, considering." With a little more reflection, I recalled that during this entire season of medical challenges, Jesus was truly upholding me.
Thank God it is not up to us to hold it all together. He has that covered! As I've said before, "God's got this!" The problem I had was putting that truth into words. Though I never have been and never will be "forsaken", there are times when we can have a hard time expressing that fact - He is holding, even when I seem to be folding...
David wrote, "Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:14
We don't earn acceptance, it's given by grace through faith in Jesus. But we benefit from speaking words that align with the truth of God's heart, promise and purpose. So,
consider, ponder and meditate on this fact: He hold all things together by the word of His power. That includes me and you, no matter what we are facing, feeling or forging through.
Today and every day, you are held by Him Who holds everything together. That's not going to be changed, canceled or compromised! God knows how to care for what belongs to Him.
Again, how are you holding up?
