Do You Hear That?
"The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior Who saves. He will take great delight in you; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
Noise. Everywhere we turn there's a constant disruption, a confounding distraction or a critical drumbeat that wants to demand our attention. Noise becomes so common place, we can miss the sound of His singing over us.
But if we pay attention, there it is. God is rejoicing over us with a song. It's a song of delight in Who we are in Jesus. It's a song that quiets us with His peace. It's a melody of His majestic gladness!
We are His redeemed, ransomed and righteous children, thanks to the blood of Jesus. And child-likeness is required to enjoy the kingdom's song.
Jesus said, "Assuredly I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." Mark 10:15
Life is so much better when our spiritual ears are tuned into the sound of God's song. Do you hear it? If so, return the melody to Him in praise, as David says, "I will sing of mercy a justice; to You, O Lord, I will sing praise."
Psalm 101:1
