Redacted
"I, even I, am He Who blots out your transgressions for My own sake; and I will not remember your sins." Isaiah 43:25
Sometimes we've heard about documents that have been "redacted". This implies that parts of the record have been blotted out and can't be seen.
Thanks to the blood of Jesus, our transgressions and sins are blotted out. For the believer, there is no better news than the fact that our sins have been forgiven. We are washed clean of our unrighteousness and made new by the blood of the Lamb.
It not because of anything we have done to merit this gift, but solely because of Who God is and what was accomplished on the cross. When we receive, by faith, the finished work of Jesus and begin following Him, what separated us from Him is redacted! Our sins are blotted out!
"Therefore, brethren, having boldness to enter the Holiest by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He consecrated for us, through the veil, that is, His flesh." Hebrews 10:19-20
Though the enemy wants to remind us of our failures, flaws and flub-ups, the Lord Himself has washed the record clean. With our sins redacted, blotted out, removed from the record - we stand clothed in His righteousness!
Our identity is wrapped up in His character! "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God." Ephesians 2:8
Someone has said, "When the devil tries to remind you of your past, remind him of his future."
Thank you Jesus for forgiving and redacting my sins. The record reflects Your finished work. Now let me reflect You to others!
