Fourth Man
"Look!, he answered, I see four men in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God." Daniel 3:25
Having enraged king Nebuchadnezzar, Daniel's three friends were bond and thrown into the fiery furnace. They had refused to bow down to the image the king had set up.
Now, to the king's disbelief he sees the unexpected. Not only were the three men alive and unharmed, there was a mysterious Fourth Man in the fire. He had the appearance of the "Son of God"! Jesus is our Deliverer and stands with us when fiery trials come.
Paul wrote, "Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves but in God Who raises the dead, Who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in Whom we trust that He will still deliver us." II Corinthians 1:9-10
When we face tests and trials, the Fourth Man in the fire will come and be with us. Whether or not difficulties abound, the Lord is our Rock and High Tower of strength.
Today you are not alone, Jesus is with you. Through the smoke see the Savior. Through the trial see the triumph. Through the hardships see the hand of His provision.
