Signage
"The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes."
Psalm 19:8
When navigating the streets of the metro area, signage is everywhere. From speed limit signs to construction zones; from detours to directions. Where we be without signage?
Or think about traveling to an unfamiliar location and trying to locate an address (even with GPS information), signs are important to help us reach our destination.
On the journey of the Christian life, Scripture provides vital direction. God's Word not only instructs, inspires and informs, it is designed to guard our well-being. It provides "traffic rules" to protect us from spiritual disaster.
Jesus gives such guidance to us as His followers. Here's just three critical commands:
Forgive our offenders; which protects us from bitterness and ensures God's forgiveness toward us. (Luke 6:37)
Love others; which prevents us from becoming self-centered. (John 15:12-13)
Remain connected to Him; which allows us to avoid the emptiness of an unfruitful life. (John 15: 4-6)
There are so many benefits from obeying the "signage" God puts in our journey. The outcome is joy itself, a clear conscience and a demonstration of our love for Jesus. Observation and obedience free us from spiritual disaster and insure greater intimacy with the Lord of love!
Remember to observe the signage,
