Trust Time
"...Fear is on every side; But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord; I say 'You are my God.' My times are in Your hand;" Psalm 31:13-15
The countdown is on. The new year is just around the corner.
Time waits for no one as days turn into years and years into decades. Facing the passing of time is a constant reality.
But King David reminds us of the fact that our times are in God's hands. Though surrounded by slanderous enemies, failing strength and schemes to end his life, David declared the key to changing and challenging times. He says, "I trust in You Lord"!
Trusting God, Whose mercies are new every morning, releases the soul from fear. All our days are on loan from Him. We need not be consumed with worry, dread or consternation.
As Jesus said, "Therefore do not worry saying what shall we eat? Or what shall we drink? Or what shall we wear? For your heavenly Father knows that you need all those things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow..." Matthew 6:31-34
Seeking the kingdom of God means we trust Him with our days, our details, our dreams and our destination! We can resolve to rest in His care knowing He will be there for every new day in the new year.
My advice for 2022:
"O love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person. Be of good courage and strengthen your heart, all you who hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:23-24
Happy New Year,
