High Time
"And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. The night is far spent, the day is at hand." Romans 13:11-12
Have you ever been asked, "what time is it"? The answer maybe simple when referring to the time of day, but when it comes the times and seasons God has established for the nations, the answer is far more critical. As someone has said, "we live in interesting times".
Paul writes about the danger of being asleep or unaware of the times we find ourselves in. Our times are in His hands and we are to be alert but not alarmed.
Though the "nations rage" and people "plot a vain thing " and rulers "take counsel together against the Lord and His Anointed", our God reigns! (See Psalm 2:1-2)
Uproar, unrest and unrighteousness maybe the state of the nations, but the Kingdom of God is moving forward. Confusion may abound in the world, but confidence and courage are available to those who trust in the Lord. All the signs point to the sickness that comes with spiritual rebellion, but Jesus demonstrates God's love, even in times like these!
So it is "high time" to be awake and alert, making the most of the opportunities before us. Today is the day of salvation and good news abounds in Christ Jesus! We are victorious overcomers through Him Who loved us and gave Himself for us! We are the "salt and light" in these times!
