Train Up
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6
Where's the instructions? Parenting children is crucial for our world, but they don't come with an owners manual or a list of instructions "for optimum performance".
Looking back, I was fortunate to have had parents who believed that the Word of God was the roadmap for life and the guidebook for wisdom. As a child I learned, by example, that the most important thing in life was to trust in God and discern the paths He calls us to follow. Those paths led to a personal relationship with Jesus!
Now, with the privilege of being a grandfather, I can testify that though no one has perfect children, we do have a perfect God. He has been faithful to keep His promises that were instilled in me from the start.
With immense gratitude, I want to encourage parents to start and to stay on the course of training your children in the Lord's ways. You won't be perfect at it, but God will bring amazing outcomes. Don't let short-term setbacks deny you longterm blessings.
"So that your trust may be in the Lord; I have instructed you today, even you." Proverbs 22:19
