Everlasting Life
"Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him Who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life." John 5:24
How do we know that we are saved? What must we do to receive everlasting life? These questions arose in a recent conversation with a friend.
Turning to Scripture, we find a clear and bold answer. Jesus said that if we hear His words and believe in God we have eternal life. Believing (relying upon, trusting in) God is the essential issue. When we do this we can be assured that we have "passed from death into life."
Becoming a Christ-follower starts by choosing to believe with our hearts and confess with our mouth that Jesus is God's Son and that His death on the cross was for our sins. He took what separated us from God (our sins) and gave us the righteousness of God in exchange!
"The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart...that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved." (Romans 10:8-9)
Saved to have everlasting life; saved to not come into judgment; and saved having passed from death into life!
Call on the Lord Jesus today and experience everlasting life!
